On Hitting Walls

I'm finding recently that when things happen, they tend to happen all at once. Most recently, for me, it's hitting walls (not literally, thank God).

For starters, I'm hitting a wall with my running. Little by little, I've shed minutes off my time for both my two mile run and my three mile run. Yet, within the past week, I can't seem to push past 24 minutes and 36 minutes, respectively. It's a mental blockade of sorts — one that's so strong my physical body can't seem to out run it...literally.

Then, as with any period of self growth and self awareness, right when you're feeling like yourself again, you hit "walls": little shifts in your day-to-day life that tend to throw you for a loop. Whether it's someone from your past, an unfortunate incident beyond your control, or even a minor annoyance, I'm learning to not let these be walls but be purely speed bumps — as in, once you're over them, you keep moving on and not let them hinder your growth.

...that's all.
